Erving, MA – Three Hurt in Major Truck Wreck on Route 2 at Route 2A

Erving, MA (August 17, 2024) – Three people were transported to area hospitals with injuries following a motor vehicle accident that occurred in the Erving area. The police and firefighters were called to the scene of the crash on Friday afternoon, August 16.

Police reports show that a Toyota Camry and a 2023 Mack Pinnacle truck collided on Route 2 near Route 2A. The incident prompted the closure of the intersection as emergency crews worked to remove debris from the roadways and the damaged vehicle. The sedan sustained significant front-end damage, requiring it to be towed. Three people in the vehicle were severely injured. One person was transported by ambulance to Athol Hospital for emergency care. Two additional victims were severely injured and flown by helicopter to a local hospital. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
