Springfield, MA – Woman Fatally Injured in Crash on Boston Rd

Springfield, MA (September 4, 2024) – Emergency crews were dispatched to provide help at the scene of a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred in Springfield and claimed one woman’s life. The Springfield Police Department was notified of the incident at around 7:45 p.m. on September 2.

Reports show that a female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Boston Road near Brookshire Avenue. The woman was thrown into offense at the Saint Michael Cemetery. The impact of the collision resulted in fatal injuries. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene of the crash. He was later apprehended and identified as 18-year-old Nathan Colón. The woman was pronounced deceased by authorities. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
